This year’s fundraising event took place at MacPhee Pontiac and included 100 bikes, 850 spinners, 24 energetic spin instructors, amazing incentive prizes, hundreds of volunteers and sponsors, and a goal of completing a five-year commitment to raise $500,000 for the Dartmouth General Hospital CT Scanner campaign.
Anticipating a surplus in the final year, Dean Hartman, Revolution chair and former CEO of Nubody’s, also pledged $50,000 to the Canadian Red Cross Haiti Earthquake Relief fund. This included a $20,000 matched donation from the Canadian government. This dream became a reality when the Revolution committee presented a cheque for $555,000 to the hospital and fulfilled its financial commitment to the CRC.
The day prior to the event a resolution was tabled in the Nova Scotia Government legislative assembly commending Hartman in his efforts to support health and wellness in HRM.
“The tremendous success of our event over the past five years was largely due to our corporate sponsors, media partners, volunteers, participants, pledge supporters and to our Nubody’s associates,” Hartman says.
The Revolution crew would like to thank all who participated over the past five years.
