Help the Nova Scotia Provincial Animal Shelter in Burnside by raising funds for our fourth annual Alley Cat Bowl. This is a great opportunity for businesses in Burnside to challenge one another to be the largest fundraiser for this event. Lend a helping hand to the shelter while enjoying a fun event at Fairlanes Bowling Centre in Halifax Shopping Centre on March 31.

This year we have an online pledging component that will track the top fundraising individual and/or team as we go forward. Compete with other participants and enjoy this easy way to ask friends, family and colleagues to support animals. Visit www.spcans.ca/events to sign up now to help the vulnerable animals in our province.

The Alley Cat Bowl is an event where animal lovers come out in support of the Nova Scotia Provincial Animal Shelter. Through your collected pledges and event participation, we hope to raise much needed funding for our shelter.

The Provincial Animal Shelter is unique as it is the main shelter for our animal cruelty cases from all over Nova Scotia. These animals often require additional veterinary care and have a longer stay at the shelter as they're rehabilitated after experiencing abuse or neglect. We believe all animals deserve a second chance in a loving home.

This event contributes significantly toward our critical expenses, the largest being veterinary care.

The mission of the Nova Scotia SPCA is to prevent abuse, neglect and cruelty to animals and to provide province-wide leadership on matters that promote and improve the welfare of all animals through animal protection, care and rehabilitation, humane education, advocacy, and engagement with stakeholders. The majority of our funding comes from donations. We aren't a government agency and don't receive tax dollars to fulfill our mandate.

It's the generosity of our donors and volunteers that guarantees the success of our events. All proceeds will go directly to helping the animals in need and under the care of the Nova Scotia Provincial Animal Shelter.

Help sheltered animals, win great prizes and have fun with old and new friends! Don't miss this event on March 31 at Fairlanes Bowling Centre. We look forward to seeing you there!!
