Burnside -
By NS SPCA Staff
Well, it's that time of year again when the Metro Shelter is gearing up for its largest fundraiser of the year - the 18th annual Dog Jog.
This year's event is scheduled for June 21 at Point Pleasant Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The SPCA Dog Jog is always a fun time and a great way to meet fellow dog owners and to socialize with your pet, all the while supporting a worthy cause.
This year's event will also include face painting for the kids and Lietash Canine Academy will be there, demonstrating the fun of dog agility.
Brochures and further info on the Dog Jog, including pledge sheets, can be obtained through our main website at www.spcans.ca. To participate or volunteer, contact Stephanie Moulton at smoulton@eastlink.ca. Hope to see you there!
Please Note: During the spring and summer months when animals are spending more time outdoors, please remember that regardless where you live in HRM, if your cat is picked up as a stray or your dog gets lost, there's an excellent chance they will be picked up and brought to the shelter at 5 Scarfe Court in Burnside. The number to contact the Metro SPCA is 468-7877.
The Metro SPCA shelter is a non-profit, publicly-funded organization solely concerned with animal welfare, protection and humane education.
