Anyone driving by the CN team track on MacDonald Avenue, sometimes referred to as the common user dock, may have noticed the fencing and gates were erected around the site last winter. Julie Sencal, CN's manager of government and public affairs, says the new measures won't stop customers from accessing the facility, but instead are intended to improve security provide better control of who is accessing the site. It also allows for better car handling and scheduling at the facility, as customers have to provide notice of their arrival. Sencal says safety has also been improved, with all users being monitored for use of appropriate safety equipment. In addition to the fencing, the ramp was rebuilt and resurfaced. Anyone seeking further information on the use of the facility can visit the CN website at www.cn.ca.
