Question: What sits high above most buildings in Burnside and is forever green? In a very odd place sits a large green tree complete with lights above a concrete silo. This tree is located at 18 Macdonald Ave. in Burnside, the home of Quality Concrete. The company has put up the tree for about eight years now and - if you know what to look for – it can be seen from all over Burnside and even when coming across the MacKay Bridge. Dubbed the Stevens Group family Christmas tree, it was the idea of Tim Nickerson to bring a little Christmas spirit to an otherwise cold business park. Now it's an eagerly anticipated annual tradition by employees and especially their children. Passing cars – especially on the weekend when things aren't so busy – often stop to look and take pictures.
