The art of circus is fascinating to nearly everyone. People of all ages are still amazed by acrobats from all over the world. In celebration of its five years of teaching circus arts in Nova Scotia, Atlantic Cirque is hosting a gala event on Thursday, October 11, 2007 at the Cunard Centre.
The event will showcase the acrobats and artists cultivated at the school. Guests can expect a visually stunning evening featuring live circus acts including different circus techniques, including aerial skills, trapeze, cerceau, diamond, acrobatics, contortion, human pyramids, silks and much more.
The goal of Atlantic Cirque is to introduce the arts of circus to all interested. The circus school offers its students the opportunity to develop and hone coordination, strength, flexibility, concentration and creativity in a structured and safe environment under the instruction and supervision of circus professionals. From its inception, the school now boasts more than 100 registrations per session, from kids of five-years-old to adults of all ages!
In addition to the school, Atlantic Cirque also developed Atlantic Canadas first professional circus troupe, Cirque Siana. The troupe, founded in 2007, presented its first show last February at Alderney Landing Theatre to sell out crowds.
Tickets to Atlantic Cirques gala event are $20 and can be purchased online at www.atlanticcirque.com or by phone at (902) 457-2227 or by email at info@atlanticcirque.com.
