Burnside - Members of Halifax Fire and Emergency (right) and representatives of Maritime & Northeast Pipeline walk down Thornhill Drive, capturing on film a gas pipeline emergency drill held in Burnside last month. All of Halifaxs emergency agencies participate in a mock disaster to determine how they would respond and interact if faced with a gas line explosion. The successful event, and others like it, is considered a crucial part of the citys emergency preparedness training.
