• Regular users of the new Chain of Lakes Trail that passes through the park may notice some unusual activity over the next few weeks. Bore holes are being drilled along the trail to test the ground conditions underneath to see if the route is suitable for the possible installation of a new sewage line. If the project were to go ahead, Bayers Lake’s sewage lines would be connected directly to the new Halifax sewage treatment plant. This would help alleviate complaints about the capacity and smell problems surrounding the current pumping station in the park.

• At 5 a.m. on September 27, police were called to the 200 block of Horseshoe Lake Drive to investigate a commercial break and enter. Security called police after they responded to an intrusion alarm and discovered a window had been broken and several items had been stolen. It is also believed that several containers had been entered, however, they were all empty and nothing was stolen. The investigation led officers to an address on Chadwick Place where a tractor-trailer was discovered and determined to be stolen. Officers attended an apartment at that location and arrested two men and a woman in relation to this incident. The woman was released, but the men remain in custody. The investigation is ongoing and no decision has been made regarding charges.

LED Roadway Lighting has relocated its head office from its former location at 35 Ash Lake Crt. to 115 Chain Lake Dr., the NSCC building. PoleCo has taken over the old Ash Lake Court location.

• Also on the move are Iron Dog Fitness and Cosmo Prof. Iron Dog has left the Vantage Point development for Unit B at 124 Chain Lake Dr. – former home of East Coast Fitness. You can find them in between Marvin Windows and Doors and Heritage Hearth Products. Cosmo Prof’s new digs are at 127 Chain Lake Dr. next to Floors Plus and Elements, leaving behind its former location at 19 Crane Lake Dr.
